StoicPath (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a mobile app for learning Stoicism through daily audio lessons, guided programs, challenges, and reflections. It is built and maintained by the StoicPath development team. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work and to track your progress. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show you ads, and your written reflections stay private to your account.
Account information. You sign in with your Apple or Google account. That provider shares basic profile details with us — your name, email address, a profile photo (Google), and a unique account ID — so we can create and secure your StoicPath account. With Apple, you can choose to hide your email, in which case we only receive a private relay address. We never see your Apple or Google password.
Your activity in the app. To run the app and remember your progress, we store what you do in it, such as: the programs and lessons you start or complete, challenges you check off, your streaks, points (your “Stoic Score”) and level, any rating or comment you leave as feedback on a program, and whether you asked to be notified about upcoming programs.
Reflections you write. Some lessons invite you to write a private reflection. This text is stored in your account so you can return to it. It is tied only to your account, is not shown to other users, and is never used for advertising.
Usage and diagnostic data. Like most apps, we use Google’s Firebase tools to understand how the app is used and to keep it stable. This includes app-usage events (for example, which screens and lessons are opened), basic device information (such as device model and operating-system version), and crash reports if something goes wrong. This data is linked to an app account identifier rather than to your name, and the text of your reflections is never included in it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
We rely on a small number of trusted services to run the app:
These providers process data on our behalf and under their own privacy policies. You can read Google’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy for more detail.
Your data is stored on Google Firebase’s servers, which may be located outside your country. By using the app, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own. We only share your personal information with the services above as needed to run the app, or where required by law.
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from the app’s Profile screen. Deleting your account removes your profile and the activity data tied to it. Some records may be kept for a limited time where needed for security, to prevent abuse, or to meet legal obligations, and anonymous, aggregated statistics that no longer identify you may remain. You can also email us with any request about your data.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you can delete your account yourself in the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To make a request, just email us at the address below.
StoicPath is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
